What a super day we’re having!
The children have come in today dressed as superheroes and they all look…SUPER!
We are designing our own secret hideout, making superhero masks and creating our own superhero logo.
If you need any help at all, just shine a light in the sky and Team Nightingale will swoop down to help!
My class love our blog and two children in Nightingale Class have been so inspired that they have gone home and created blogs of their own. Edward’s blog is about his cat and Olive’s blog is a place where she is sharing her gymnastic skills. I love these children’s enthusiasm for learning. Well done bloggers!
We have been lucky enough to be given some money from Mr Howe, Mrs Howe’s husband to buy some books for our class. Mrs Howe was a teacher in our school who passed away a few years ago. She used to teach in Nightingale Class and she loved reading.
I went to Harry’s bookshop in Oldfield Park this weekend and bought some new books for our class. I hope the children love reading them. This is a fantastic gift for our class and we know that Mrs Howe would have loved to see the children reading these new books.
Our class have been so inspired by our trip to Bath Children’s Literary Festival last week that we had a go at making some of our own poems in the style of Joseph Coelho. Zac and Freddie caught the essence of the ‘school dinner’ poem perfectly and produce some brilliant results.
We had a fantastic time on Monday 1st October. We went on a coach into town and spent a lovely hour in the company of poet and children’s book writer, Joseph Coelho. He told us some funny poems and read his wonderful book, Luna loves library day. It was a great talk and some of the children were able to help. Sonny was great at being the Troll King on stage!
